How to Use Dressing Retention Tape With Athletic Tape

The dressing retention tape can be a simple way as a pre tape to prevent direct contact of rigid tapes that causes skin irritation. Dressing retention tape is usually made from a porous, non-woven fabric that is gentle on the skin and allows air to flow through. It is also designed to be flexible and stretchy, which helps it conform to the contours of the body and move with the athlete during activity.

The dressing tape allows the user having greater freedom of movement. Wide-area fixation of the wound dressing reduces the risk of contamination.

Today sports injuries are becoming more prevalent, Awareness of protecting joints and limbs is more important. While the rigid tape provide excellent immobilization during sports, the strength of this adhesive as well as its ingredients can be very harsh to many skins types especially if used regularly due to sport or training. The fixation dressing tape can be a simple way as pre taping to prevent the draw backs of rigid tapes.

The tape is typically applied in a criss-cross or spiral pattern over the dressing or bandage, creating a secure barrier that prevents the dressings from shifting or slipping during intense physical activity. This helps to prevent friction, chafing, and irritation that can occur when dressings move around during sports.
