Ankle injuries need rather long time to recover, at this point, athletes may not wait too long. The non-elastic athletic taping helps to keep exercising while provides maximum support.
Let's look into ways of strapping your ankle.
Clean and dry your skin. Make sure no lotions are applied. Trim the hair to have better adhesive.
Recommend to apply foam tape to wrap around before the taping job. The foam tape works as a barrier between skin and adhesive tape.
1. Put an anchor of adhesive tape strip on the top of the ankle,
2. Tape a strip from inside of the foot and pull to outside, making a U shape. Do two times of this step.
3. Put and anchor tape to close the top. Then place more strips in the same way to secure the U strips from top to the bottom of the foot. This step keeps the current taping stable during moving.
4. Do a heel lock by strapping around the ankle with a figure-8.
5. Add a few more strips to close all strips up.
